8-year-old child diagnosed with Autism and Hyperlexia needs support in reading comprehension. Very intelligent, but struggles with demand avoidance and Autism related behavior issues. that disrupt the flow of reading are also a factor. Will provide therapist support during tutoring. Prefer someone trained/experienced in autism-specific education. Visualizing verbalizing, explicit instruction, multi-sensory, ese experience. Next year is 3rd grade and the stakes are high. School-based intervention has not been sufficient.
