Part Time
My mom had a major stroke a year ago, resulting in paralysis on her left side and aphasia (trouble with communicating). She needs a lot of help, but we're always working on more and more strength, skill and independence. She's in outpatient therapy every week (PT, OT, ST).
Details:
Needs assistance with: getting in/out of bed, dressing, personal hygiene, bathroom (commode), taking medications, preparing meals, daily stretches/ROM on her left side.
78 yo, weighs about 175 and is five eight when standing tall. Her right side is strong and helpful.
She's aware, funny, cooperative and communicates her needs. Due to her aphasia the tricky part is figuring out what she is trying to say, but we usually get it in the end!
