This is a a long term job. She will need help with transfers, medications, showers etc. Home Health Care will assist with showers several day a week. It is best if I can speak with you to explain the situation or interview with you at her home in Choctaw.

About who needs care: Diabetic. Unable transfer by self. Check blood sugar. Draw up insulin. Help bathe and dress. Change adult diaper. Services needed include: feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.

You would be caring for my 71-year-old dad who had a stroke 10 years ago. He's kind and easy going. A little impulsive. Great sense of humor. Difficulty speaking and right side weakness/paralysis. Job duties would include prepping breakfast, snack and lunch for him, medication reminders, help with daily hygiene and showers a couple times a week, assistance ambulating, cleaning his room and bathroom, his laundry and just being a good companion to him. Ideal candidate would be willing to take him on outings occasionally as I cannot most days. I have 2 small children and a home to maintain and I wish he could get out more. Non-smokers please. And must love goldendoodles.

A little more about my father: he can be lethargic, pleasant, grouchy, independent. My dad, Clayburn, is 79 and has liver disease and is recovering from colon cancer . He is also diabetic and recently his sugar level plummeted. My mom, Cora, is 78 and takes care of him but I think it is too much for her. My parents are kind and loving and I think it would be a pleasant experience. I'm looking for someone who is patient, chatty, firm, strong, fond of pets. Someone who had a loving heart and truly empathetic to others. I think my dad just needs something to live for and if he could get some help getting out of bed and walking his life would improve. My dad is an intelligent and professionally successful man.
