I cared for my adult daughter for two years after a serious motorcycle accident which left her with a serious brain injury. I had to teach her to walk and talk and was responsible for all aspects of her care as she recovered. She made almost a full recovery. I have also assisted with the care of my 93-year-old mother-in-law who has moderate Alzheimer's. I am now retired (a 20year veteran) and would like to use the skills I have acquired taking care of family members to assist other families with the care of their loved one. I am very patient, and not afraid of nitty gritty things like diaper changing , getting reluctant elders to shower, etc. I am reasonably strong but at this age not interested in any heavy lifting. Looking for a direct care position not doing errands or chauffeuring. Prefer morning shifts but am reasonably flexible. I would strongly prefer short shifts i. e. no more than 5 hours at a time. Looking for 10-25 hours a week. I love dogs and cats.
