Full Time
About who needs care: Takes medication for heart. Also has lymphedema which requires her to have her legs wrapped daily. I currently do it when I visit. She has a 13-year-old lab and our primary concern right now is ensuring that she takes her meds, feeds the dog and herself. She does pretty well dressing and bathing, except for her leg wraps. But she is not as good at meal prep. We currently have food delivered by LCAP during the week, but Licking County cannot provide any additional services. Ideally we would need someone there between 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 - 6:00 pm, probably 3-4 days a week.
About the care needs: Obviously someone who is friendly and caring, and who enjoys visiting with elders. Someone who likes dogs. Ability to monitor whether or not she is taking her medication correctly and feeding the dog. As mentioned they would need to wrap her legs in the mornings but they are just Velcro wraps - so no skilled nursing is required. Would also need them to make sure she has something for breakfast and dinner on the days they come out.
Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
