About Me!
I'd describe my personality as outgoing but reserved. I am incredibly honest & trustworthy & I absolutely love helping others! I like working with kids because they bring me back to simplicity, being present & seeing the little wonders of the world! I'm looking for a job that can be flexible with other self employed jobs I run. I started working with kids when I was a teenager as a YMCA counselor in training at the age of 13, promoted to day care counselor when I was of age to work at 15 & worked there until I graduated high school at 18. I then took a job as a CAP worker through a special needs agency during college & then after college became a developmental specialist for WFBH's CDSA. I continued working there until 2016 when I had my twins. In my spare time, I like to play with my kids, so arts & crafts & I love to learn! My skills include being educated & familiar with all kinds of special needs. I am also CPR/first aid trained & have experience in every field of child care.

Aspiring Certified Child Life Specialist!
Hi, my name is Sophie :) I recently graduated from UNCG with a degree in Human Development and Family Studies with a focus in Child, Youth, and Family Development and a minor in Sociology. Throughout college, I had the honor of nannying on and off for my nephew who is now almost 5! I also have two nieces in Wilmington who I have cared for throughout their lives. I truly have a passion for helping new lives experience the wonders of the world and learn how to navigate their environments to the best of their abilities. Within the next few years I aspire to obtain my certification as a Child Life Specialist. I have experience as a CNA and am certified in CPR/BLS. I am well prepared to provide safe, secure, and fun environments for your precious young ones. While taking care of your little loved ones I can also help with light housekeeping, pet care, and errands if necessary. I look forward to meeting you and your little ones!
