He does self toilet and dresses himself. Shaves, etc daily - it is time consuming for him but good exercise. I will comb his hair for him when we have appointments, church, etc. He enjoys birds and always enjoyed a garden when he was able. Services needed include: feeding, and bathing / dressing.

About who needs care: This is an inquiry about care for my in-laws. Both my mother-in-law and father-in-law are ambulatory, however my mother-in-law has decided that she no longer wants to drive and she no longer wants to cook meals. She has some minor health issues but is overall fairly healthy. My father-in-law is recovering from surgery to remove his spleen. He is having problems with his red blood cells/hemoglobin, so sometimes he is weak, and he occasionally needs to be transported to the clinic/hospital for blood transfusions. He goes twice weekly to have his hemoglobin levels checked. He has physical and occupational therapy coming to the house during the week right now, so his physical needs are cared for. Both of them are stubborn and their relationship is strained due to the fact that they are stuck in the house together all the time. (Covid has NOT been helpful in this situation!) We are hoping to find someone who is willing to help with cooking and transporting them to doctor appointments, and otherwise is there for a listening ear and to play games or help with little projects. About the care needs: There is no nice way to say this, but the ideal caregiver would need to be able to handle two controlling, difficult, stubborn people. They will need patience, and the strength to stand up to them if necessary. Also someone who is calm/has a calming presence would be great.
