Hi. I am looking for care for my 90 yr old aunt in Aiken. I am Carol, her niece. I live in Baltimore, and manage her care. My aunt liveswith her husband, who generally provides care for her, but she needs a gentle, kind caregiver to help her get cleaned up, put clean depends pull-ups on, etc. My aunt is nearly completely deaf, with no sign language, and has some dementia. So you communicate with her by writing simple clear notes.
She is fiercely independent, and needs someone who will win her trust with kindness and companionship.
As for the hours, mid morning is best, but a shift that starts at noon would be OK, too. You will also be preparing a simple meal for her, like instant oatmeal and fruit.
